Summer School “Nanosciences Ile-de-France 2008”

Document Actions

Domaine du Tremblay, June 22-27, 2008

The 2008 summer School “Nanosciences Ile de France” is the second issue of a series of yearly events. It emanates from the Center of Nanoscience in Ile-de-France (C'Nano IdF, http://www.cnanoidf.org), whose aim is to promote, coordinate, and bundle interdisciplinary research in the field of nanosciences for more than 80 laboratories in the Paris area.

The main objective of this school is interdisciplinary teaching in the fields of sciences exploring the nanoworld, from biology to quantum physics. It also focuses on the social impacts of those researches. The 2007 edition reflected these ideas with a very broad scientific program (http://www.cnanoidf.org/summer-school-2007).

The 2008 school will include lectures on advanced domains in nanosciences given by international researchers well-known in their respective fields of research. It will be an interesting opportunity for young researchers or students to meet international senior scientists recognized in their domain. Special events, like seminars or discussions, will be devoted to the social impacts of nanosciences (ethic, health, toxicity, law, jurisdiction...).

Two poster sessions will be organized during which the students will have the opportunity to present their own work.
